Microsoft gives YOU an opportunity you shouldn’t miss!

I have great news! It seems my series is going to be put to work at last! It’s rather fortunate that I got it done just in time for this AWESOME opportunity ;)

Are you a student from the MEA region who’s graduating this year (well, even if you’ve recently graduated, I think you should go for it. Worked for me ;) )? Are you ready to have the exact same opportunity I had? DO YOU WANT TO WORK FOR MICROSOFT?! Of course YOU DO ;)

Anyways, enough with me rambling, and let’s cut to the chase. Here’s the announcement:

What fuels your passion?

Deciding where to start your career can be as nerve-wracking as it is exciting. Maybe you don’t know exactly what you want to do. Maybe you don’t even have a technology background. Fortunately, Microsoft will help you to build a career that evolves along with your interests and passions.

Jump right in to the deep end

That’s a phrase we hear a lot from people during their first week at Microsoft. And with good reason. From day one, you’ll plunge headfirst into engaging, meaningful projects. Your team members and managers will help you get up-to-speed in no time. It’s a thrilling way to start your career—and it’s only the beginning. Now take the first step.

  1. Can mid-career professional also apply for this opportunity?

Can you share any recruitment plans for mid-career professionals?

  2. @Khaniimmi: the answer is unfortunately no. This opportunity is for students who are graduating this year.
As for other recruitment plans, well, I'm only sharing these announcments as I find out about them. If something shows up I'll definitely share it ;)

  3. I had done the application at microsoft university .And I want to know , should I do something else to go to "Dubai Interview Event"?

  4. @Wael: I'm not sure what you mean, but if you already submitted your resume, there isn't much you can do meanwhile, except perhaps prepare for the next stages of the process, and for this I hope my blog post series would help. Note that you can update your resume if you need to ;)
Also, you should know that if you're not selected for the phone interview, you will NOT receive an email telling you that, which makes the waiting part in this first step quite difficult. (in the other steps, however, you WILL get a response in both cases)
I wish you all the best ;)

  12. @israa: glad it worked out for you :) as for your graduation date, the announcement states that those graduating before August 2012 would be considered for full-time jobs, so you're alright ;)
@heshamwhite: israa's problem is fixed, can you try again on a different browser and see if it works for you as well?

  13. what about who doesn't have strong academic record?

    ReplyDelete
  14. @Rock: this is my own opinion: a good academic record should be a "plus" for someone who's just graduated, as he might not have that much experience. So, if you have something else to show for your skills (like professional experience), then I believe the academic record becomes secondary. Still, this is my own opinion.

  17. Are you sure of this info?!!!
I have known from a MS employee that the camp is next week from 5-10 Feb not in March!! And the CVs are collected in October and November not before 15th Jan.. and I know a lot of friends have submitted their CVs after spreading this post, and nobody is contacted yet..

  18. @Mohammadkotb: yes, I'm pretty sure about this as I received it from Amintas Neto, who's head of DPE in the MEA Region, and I received the same announcement in the "Student 2 Business" newsletter. In addition, several of my friend were in fact contacted and had their phone interviews. I hope they, and many others, would get their chance to have the insite interviews and hopefully get an offer ;)

  19. I'm pretty sure that no one of my friends have been contacted till now, you have said it is in the MEA region, and we are in Egypt so we have to be contacted like your friends!!
Can you ask your contact at Microsoft why they didn't contact us till now?
    Thanks,

  20. @mohammadkotb: I shared this particular announcement as I received it, and as you can see it doesn't mention any excluded countries. So, to be honest, I don't really know the actual reason. However, if I remember correctly, Egypt and another some other country were excluded in the event I participated in, so this might be the same problem. I'll ask Amintas about this, and let you know whenever I get an answer ;)
